Welcome to the fun world of the Savage. As far as sound goes, I replaced my stock exhaust with a Jardine which is most definetely LOUDER. However, the original sound was not like a sewing machine, as my two other bikes are. A Honda 450 Rebel (quiet...until I drilled a few holes) and a '75 Honda CB400f (silent...hard to tell if it's running). I think most people have left the stock exhaust on their Savage, meaning they must be happy with it. Only your ears can tell you what you need to know. The Jardine sound has simply added more enjoyment to the ride.
